Karen's solo adventure

Hi everyone. I am safe in the hotel in Krabi. It took 3 1/2 hours to get here from Phuket. I was going to take the bus but I ended up taking a Mercedes with a driver for a little more money because it saved me about 4 hours. I stopped at a great store on the way and bought a ton of bags. I don't know how I am going to carry everything! The store had things that were sold for a tsunami charity.

I am so far from anywhere! There is nothing here but an amazing hotel, a beautiful bay with tons of islands. Tomorrow I am going to visit a place called tiger cave. It is a cave temple that you have to climb up 1300 steps to get to. At least it will keep me out of the stores.

I got a nice suprise when I got to the hotel. I get free breakfast and 16usd to spend on food and drink. When I got to my room someone brought me some fresh fruit. Even the stuff in the minibar is free. There is a beautiful library with a bar in it and free internet service. I can get online in the room for 27 cents per connection. I will skype Daphne on Tuesday morning. The day after tomorrow I am going to go kayaking in Phang Na bay with all the cliffs. Tomorrow after the temple I am going to go to Ao Nang beach and Railay beach. Amazingly, I haven't spent really any time at these stunning beaches because there is too much to do. I have to make sure I spend some time on the beach.

There are no Americans where I am. It is muslim in this part of Thailand.
Well, I have to go spend some of that 16 dollars, it is going to take a while!
